Screener Templates
As your research grows, it's important to find ways to save time and stay consistent. In User Interviews, you can reuse past screeners and create screener templates for your team.
In this final lesson of our Screener Surveys Deep-Dive, you’ll learn why and how to reuse past screener templates in new projects.

Why reuse screener survey templates
Reusing a screener is a quick win that helps you:
- Save time: Avoid rewriting core questions every time you launch a new project.
- Ensure consistency: Use the same language and logic across studies, even if they’re different formats.
- Share knowledge: Easily borrow screeners from teammates who ran similar research.
- Reuse personas across study types: For example, reuse a focus group screener for a follow-up unmoderated study.
Note: This year, the User Interviews team will be moving more in the direction of templatized shared assets. We're exploring tools like a screener question bank and the ability to map screener responses to Hub database fields—so keep an eye out for updates!
How to reuse a screener survey from a past project
- Create a new project. Head to the Recruitment tab in the project builder, then open the Screener Survey drawer.
- Select “Start from an existing project.” Use the dropdown or start typing the internal title of a past project. You’ll see the project title, the name of the person who launched it, and the study type.
- Choose the project whose screener you want to copy. You can select any project—launched, completed, or even cancelled—created by you or your teammates.
- Confirm your choice. Switching the screener will override any existing questions or logic in your current draft.
- Customize as needed. Once the screener is imported, you can edit or remove any questions. Your changes won’t affect the original project.
- Click save and preview screener to lock in your edits and view what participants will see.
